NYU Badminton MVP 2006-2007
Nguyen Tran joined the NYU Badminton team in Fall 2006. He has been ranked first in Men's Single since then. He has also teamed with Sy Nitti and was instrumental in helping NYU Badminton to win against one of the most competitive Men's Doubles in the NYU-MIT tournament in December 2006 in Boston. In February 2007, in the NYU-Columbia Tournament, he again helped the team to secure the Men's Single and Men's Double titles. In the most recent NYU-Princeton Intercollegiate, Nguyen once again proved himself as the winner of Men's Single and Men's Double. Nguyen moved to NYC after receiving his computer science degree in Singapore. He is now a Ph.D student in computer science here at NYU. Nguyen said he started playing and practicing badminton because he is attracted by the speed of the sport and amazed by how players can make such smooth movements on the badminton court.
